Blank map of Tuvalu

Anyone who wants the outline of Tuvalu is usually after a marker: a shape that stands for the country on a slide, a worksheet or a design. This page gives you that shape as a file, in the one version Tuvalu has. With no regions on the map, Outline only is all there is, and it comes as a PNG, an SVG or a PDF.

A marker on a slide

Because the outline is so compact, it works as an icon beside text. Place the transparent PNG next to a heading such as the programme name, and set the slide's own colour behind it. Resize from a corner so the proportions hold. In a deck on several countries, repeat the trick with each country's outline for a matched set.

A shape to trace or restyle

Open the SVG in a design tool and fill it with a brand colour, add a heavy line or use it as a mask over a photo. It also makes a template for a craft or a stencil, since a vector shape can be enlarged to any size without blurring. For quick pupils' work, a printed outline can be traced onto a card and cut out for a Pacific display.

Matching shapes

With no inner lines, the job is naming the shape itself. Put the outlines of several countries on one page, with a letter beside each, and ask pupils to match them to a list of names. The blank map of Oceania offers the neighbouring shapes for the other rounds.
