Territory map maker
Colour regions or countries into territories, with a legend for each one. Free, no sign-up.

A territory map shows who looks after what: which rep covers which states, which depot serves which counties, which office answers for which countries. The editor above opens on the sales territories template, the world split into four areas with a legend naming each one. Recolour them, add or remove countries, rename the legend, and the map matches how your team works.
Territories people draw
Sales teams are the main users. A business selling across Europe can give each country manager a colour, or a US team can split the 50 states and the District of Columbia between regional reps and keep the map in its planning deck.
Service areas follow the same pattern: the counties a plumber or an engineer covers, the delivery zones of a shop, the districts each care team visits. Franchise maps show which areas are taken and which are still free, and a charity can show the regions each partner works in.
Building territories in the editor
Start with the right map. For countries, the place list's Map of button has groups such as EMEA, APAC and LATAM ready to pick; for regions, search for the country and choose its regions, so they are listed by name.
Then colour by territory: click a place, pick the territory's colour on the card, and repeat. Colour all in the selection settings colours everything you have selected in one step. The legend takes one line per colour, and Legend labels on the Data tab is where you write each territory's name. If the territories are already in a spreadsheet, paste them as data and use the Categories method instead of clicking each place.
How to do it in MapMaker
- Pick the countries or a country's regions from the place list.
- Click each place in a territory and give it that territory's colour on the card.
- Repeat for every territory, one colour each.
- Type each territory's name under Legend labels on the Data tab of More.
- Choose Download and save a PNG for your slides or a PDF to print.
Where to go next
The sales territories template is the map above. For states and regions, the map of US states and the map of German states are ready to colour, and the choropleth map generator colours places from numbers instead.
Questions people ask
How do I group regions into territories?
Give each territory a colour of its own, then click every region or country that belongs to it and pick that colour on the card. Places with the same colour form one territory, and each colour gets one line in the legend.
How do I name each territory in the legend?
Open the Data tab of More and find Legend labels. Each colour on the map has a line there; type the territory's name, the rep who covers it or the office that serves it, and the legend on the map follows.
Can I make territories from the regions of one country?
Yes. Search for the country in the place list and pick its regions, or turn on Subdivisions on the Place tab. The regions are then listed by name, which makes long territory lists quicker to colour.
Can I import the territories from a spreadsheet?
Yes. Paste two columns on the Data tab, the places and the name of each one's territory, and choose the Categories method: each territory name gets its own colour and its own line in the legend.
