Blank map of Yemen
The outline, free as a PNG, SVG or PDF. Label it, colour it in or drop it into a slide.

Using a blank map of Yemen
A report cover, a briefing slide or a research poster often needs only the shape of Yemen, so that the title, the figures and the colours can be added around it. Two versions are on this page: Outline only, and With borders, which draws its 21 administrative areas. Each comes as a PNG on a transparent background, an SVG and a PDF.
In a report or a briefing
Place the PNG on the cover of a report and the transparent background lets the cover colour show through, so the shape sits cleanly under the title. Inside the report, With borders gives you the 21 areas as a base: draw a marker on each area you discuss in your word processor, or colour them in a design tool. A caption can name the areas, since the map itself carries no names.
In a design tool
Open the SVG in Illustrator, Inkscape or Figma and the lines take any weight or colour. The outline scales to a banner or poster without blurring. Keep the area lines for a base map; drop them with Outline only when the shape is all you need, for an icon or a watermark.
In a lesson
With borders is the political blank map of Yemen. Number a few areas on the PNG, such as Al Jawf, Raymah, Shabwah and Lahij, and ask pupils to name each from the list further down this page, which doubles as the answer sheet. For a younger class, Outline only is the gentler file, with no inner lines to read.
More than the outline
When the map needs names, pins or a title, Customise this map opens the same outline in the editor. For print choices, the printable map of Yemen is the page; for a map coloured by area, the editable map of Yemen.
How to do it in MapMaker

Questions people ask
Is there a political blank map of Yemen?
Yes: it is the With borders version, which draws the 21 administrative areas with no names on them. Pupils can label them from the list further down this page.
Does the PNG have a transparent background?
Yes. Nothing sits behind the outline, so it takes the colour of the slide or page under it. Place it on a pale background and the outline shows in the colour it was drawn.
Can I make the outline bigger without it going blurry?
Yes, with the SVG or the PDF. Both are vector files, so they scale to a poster or banner and the lines stay sharp.
How do I add names, a title or my own colours?
Choose Customise this map. The editor opens the same outline, where you can colour areas, show names, add a title and pins, and download a PNG, JPG, SVG or PDF.
