Blank map of Laos
The outline, free as a PNG, SVG or PDF. Label it, colour it in or drop it into a slide.

Using a blank map of Laos
Outline only gives Laos as one shape. With borders draws its 17 administrative areas inside it. Whichever you take, the file is yours to place in a worksheet, a slide, a poster or a design, as a PNG, an SVG or a PDF.
Worksheets and quizzes
With 17 areas, a numbered quiz can run in rounds. Place With borders in your worksheet and number five areas in round one, such as Bokeo, Houaphanh, Phongsaly, Salavan and Savannakhet. In round two, number a different five. The list further down this page is the answer key.
Outline only has a different use as a slide starter: show the bare shape and ask the room to guess the country before you reveal the title.
Slides, posters and design work
On a slide, the transparent PNG takes the colour of your theme. Put Laos beside a short heading and a few figures, or sit it over a section divider. In Illustrator, Inkscape or Figma, the SVG gives you each area as a shape of its own: colour them from a palette, thicken the lines for a cover, or trace the outline for an illustration. Because the file is vector, the same SVG fits a small icon and a large poster.
Version and file
The political blank map of Laos is With borders. Outline only suits a silhouette, or a child colouring the whole country in. PNG goes into documents and slides, SVG into design tools, and PDF is an A4 or Letter page for printing at 100%.

Questions people ask
What is the difference between Outline only and With borders?
Outline only is the shape of Laos with nothing inside. With borders adds the lines between its 17 administrative areas, which makes it the political blank map. Neither has names on it.
Is there an answer key for a labelling quiz?
Yes. The list of administrative areas further down this page names all 17 that the With borders version draws. Number the ones you want pupils to find and mark their answers against the list.
Does the PNG have a transparent background?
Yes. Everything around the outline is see-through, so the shape of Laos takes the colour of the slide, page or poster it is placed on.
Can I show the countries around Laos?
Not on this page, which has the outline only. Choose Customise this map and switch on Neighbours in the editor to draw Cambodia, China, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam in grey around it.
